I won't lie I cried when I read this. But I also couldn't put it down. I will never know what's it's like to have an abuse relationship and I will never assume to know, but I want to say this I hope that those of you out there find a Hunter one day. This book didn't dwell to much on the abuse though it did give Evangeline her story, but its about survival and letting in the one person who saved you. Hunter is a tough cop with a soft heart and since the day he saved Evangeline he hasn't been able to think of anyone else. He knows he shouldn't that it's not about him but he can't help but wonder. Though the both have a past Hunter tries to help her see there is more to life, love, and happiness. But is it all a smoke screen? Can Evangeline really trust what her heart is saying and be with Hunter? Will she ever get over what happen to her or will she live in fear forever?
