Atlas Carter was a fierce protector an Air Force Veteran and a police officer. He will protect everyone he loves and cares for no matter what. He will also protect the woman that he calls his friend. He keeps to himself and doesn't like to deal with BS. Pepper Solomon has been through hell at the hands of someone who is supposed to love her. Her sister Sage is a pathological liar and crazy as sin. Pepper and her whole family have been traumatized in one way or another by Sage. But now Pepper needs to find Sage to give her mom the last request before her passing. She knows she's about to open Pandora's box with this but a promise is a promise. When Atlas finds out who Pepper is he immediately hates her for leaving her sister when she needed her the most. However, things are not all as they seem and Atlas is about to find out that he may have trusted the wrong person. Pepper's life is once again in jeopardy can he save her before it's too late? Man, I thought the other books in this series were good, but this one had you feeling it all.
