A pale LeAnna raises a hesitant hand. “Is someone going to tell me what’s going on? I know it isn’t any of my business, but I’m with Forest, Lily. If whatever happened… fifteen years ago can’t hurt you or Forest, then don’t go. Stay. I’ve missed you. Gigi needs you, and I need my best friend.”
“I’ve missed you too, LeAnna. You have no idea how much. I wish I found a way to reach out to you, but even if what happened can’t hurt us, I fear something worse will happen.”
Forest lets out a frustrated groan. “You leave me no choice, Lily. You want to be stubborn about this shit, fine. But if you don’t tell Warren the truth,” he jabs a finger into his chest, “then I will. And you and I both know it’ll be better if it comes from you.”
